I woke up this morning and my phone was toast. I drove to the T-Mobile store and waited 10 min for them to open. They helped me call and file an insurance claim. Then I had to take my laptop to the library and finalize the process over email. If all goes smoothly, I should have a new phone in the mail by Thursday.
After all of that, I cooked myself some lunch. I had purchased a couple pieces of steak, to put on top of a salad. I decided to put a dollop of bacon grease in the pan and heat it up before I put the steak in. As the steak was sizzling, I shook some Montreal Steak Seasoning on top. Let me tell you, this steak was so tasty that I felt bad ruining it with vegan food. I saved the other half of the steak, and ate it with Sweet Baby Rays, as God intended.
Just before I started cooking, I wanted to turn on some music. I realized that without my cell phone, i was unable to access my streaming music. This CD player has been kicking around my desk lately. I think I purchased this player when I was 15 years old or so. I’ve literally owned it for like 18 years. I opened it up, and there was a CD still inside. I removed the CD, popped in 2 batteries and was off to the races. I went thru a huge pile of CDs that I have had kicking around for just as many years. It has been fun listening to my old music today.
It has been interesting to be so disconnected today. I found myself wanting to take more photos, but not having my phone to do so. We shall see how these few days go without a cell phone.
Thanks for reading my short post today. Do you still have any old technology floating around? I can’t believe how well my CD player works still. I remember reading Consumer Reports magazines for hours before I chose this model.
